CENTER OF HOPE
"Meeting Needs and Sowing Seeds"
MINISTRIES & PROGRAMS

Our ministry motto is "meeting needs and sowing seeds (of God's love),"
which is what we seek to do in all of our programs.  It's not complicated.

With much care for our visitors, we continually discern if we are truly
empowering people, versus enabling their struggles in life.

CARE CENTER:  Our facility is open weekdays from 11 AM -- 5:30 PM for visitors to come to relax, visit with people who care and who can pray for them, receive refreshments, children and young people can hang-out, and receive information on resources.  People can also use our phones or computers/internet.  At the Care Center, many come to receive free 2nd-hand winter clothing --- 4700 pieces given/year.  Others come to receive a free bike for transportation to work --- 305+ bikes given/year, 70% to adults on parole.  Others come to receive an occasional gas voucher for work, or to receive a referral to another agency.  Some young mothers come to receive a Mother/Baby basket as a gift when they have a baby.

Relationship-building Programs:
Every Wednesday morning sees a number of adults attending our Women's CoffeeBreak and Men's LifeBible studies.  Since we began, Alcoholics Anonymous has used our facility.  Our A.A. program is known as an effective one, with good refreshments and care.  Sports Night is a weekly basketball night for young men and women.  There's plenty of good ball and some "young adult talk and prayer time."  Kids Hangout is a weekly after-school program for children that has been meeting since we started.  20-30 children come for Bible stories, snacks, love and structure, and lots of fun.  Journey Camp at Inspiration Hills is a great week-long camp experience for children.  Hope Worship Hour is every Sunday at 6 PM, with a fellowship meal following.  It's down-to-earth, warm and welcoming, and Bible and prayer-focused.  We offer a Community Fellowship Meal every Tuesday at 12:30 PM for a good time of food, fellowship, and devotions.

Visitation:
Each week we walk/visit streets and homes in struggling neighborhoods.  As well, we offer weekly visitation at a downtown "drop-in center." Inmate visitation of 10+ inmates continually occurs at the jail and prison as our visitors or family members of visitors might become incarcerated and desire a pastoral visit.  Visits at the hospital also occur quite frequently.
