Our ministry verse is I Corinthians 3:6 where the Apostle Paul wrote,
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow.”
We can meet various needs. We can effectively sow seeds about God, and even water and
fertilize those seeds, but only God, the “Heart Surgeon,” can make those seeds become a growing
plant full of life. Sometimes He grows those seeds right away; sometimes it seems He wants
those seeds to be slow-growing plants; sometimes He seems to allow the seeds to lay dormant for awhile. What a relief that perspective has been as we sometimes see people we have been
“walking with” for a few years, stumble after doing well. That brings us to another
important point of perspective --- we too stumble at times, even as we may be on a
life-walk with God. So, we want all visitors to see that we walk with them in life. As we walk with
them, they see that we are real people too. We respect them as individuals,
wherever they are on their life-walk (results-oriented with proper motives, but not overly
results-oriented). As we then walk together, we can share about something that really helps us
in our life-walk --- God and all He offers. Perhaps He can help them, too.
