Brett was called to ministry after serving 20 years in the building trade industry. After involvement with "Restored 2 Life" church beginning in 2005, Brett volunteered at Center of Hope for two years before being hired as Ministry Assistant. He served the Center with management of programs and finance. During this part-time job, Brett continued his education obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Brett then attended Sioux Falls Seminary for two years, earning a Certificate of Theology in 2010. Since then, Brett has been a full time staff member.
Calvin Ver Mulm
Cal joined the Center of Hope staff as its Development Officer in September 2015. He also served at Jackson County Ministries in Kentucky, Countryside Camp and Conference Center in Ontario, and Inspiration Hills in Iowa. He felt privileged to serve as a board member before being on staff, and is excited to see how God can use him to bless others in this role.
Native American Outreach Coordinator
Brian Narcomey hails from the Seminole/Seneca Nations of Oklahoma. Besides heading the Native American Outreach for the Center, Brian is a skilled artist and designer, with a BFA degree. Brian's art adorns the walls and niches of the Center. He has years of experience in drug and alcohol counseling and has a associates degree in drug and alcohol counseling (Level 1). Brian is always ready to talk to people who need advice.
Pastor/Bike Ministry Coordinator
John joined the Center of Hope staff as Bike Ministry Coordinator in February of 2016. John is a former Center of Hope board member and has been in Youth Ministry. He is married and has 5 children. He has had a love for riding and working on bikes for many years, and a passion for sharing Christ. It is a great combination for his role. Stop up in the Bike shop for a visit and to see him in action.
Faith Community Nursing Coordinator
Maddie joined the Center of Hope staff as the Faith Community Nursing Coordinator in December 2015. Maddie graduated with her ASN from USD and BSN from Oklahoma Wesleyan. She brings 20 years of street EMS and 14 years of nursing experience to Center of Hope. It is Maddie's desire to carry out her passions for serving and ministering to those in need as God cares for each of his children. Maddie and her husband, Pastor Milt, have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
Bike Mechanic and Trainer
Steve Johnson is a Sioux Falls resident. Steve has a passion for bicycles, and has his own three wheeler bike that he rides for recreation. This shows the persistence of Steve, who is a double amputee. Steve trains new volunteers on what expectations are for a bike that is offered in the Care Center.
Volunteer Coordinator, Care Center Assistant
Randi Helder joined the Center of Hope team because of her desire to share the knowledge of God's love and salvation with others. She considers it a privilege to meet, grow, share and even pray with the people who come to the Center, some she counts as good friends. Randi earned a degree is in elementary education, but she also has been educated by life lessons and from having the benefit of learning from lots of Bible teachers, including her husband Gary and their two grown sons, Tyson and Kyle.
Volunteer Clothing Ministry
Joanne is a volunteer who has given many hours of service to the Clothing Ministry, that is offered in the Care Center. Joanne does sorting and pricing, and is in charge of the backroom where all this happens. She also serves as a board member.
Bike Ministry Assistant
Adam joined the Center of Hope team in June 2016. He is a Dordt College graduate with a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and Missions & Evangelism and a minor in Sociology. He grew up in Ames, Iowa. He is married to Michaela Hofer, and they have one child. He feels privileged to serve at the Center of Hope because it is the perfect environment to tell people the good news of Jesus Christ and to serve the people of Sioux Falls in the name of Jesus. He plans to pursue a further degree in seminary as time allows.
