How Fred Came to Christ:  I have been blessed to come to know Jesus personally as I was growing up, going to church, and being raised in a loving family, which taught be about God and His love.  I cannot rember a time when I did not have a personal faith in God.

Role at Center of Hope: I am the Pastor/Program Director.  I am responsible for keeping the overall ministry focused on our mission statement:  Reaching out with God's love and grace to people who have difficult life issues.  I am responsible to see that we continue to have vision for the future and where God wants us to go.  I manage and/or assist in the programs of the Center of Hope.  I am a pastor and a spiritual guide to all the guests and acquaintances of the Center of Hope.  I work at fundraising and promotion, especially as it continues to grow as an outreach ministry.

Why  Fred Helped to Start the Center of Hope: Coming out of seminary, I had a desire to minister to people who were struggling with difficult life issues. I found it intriguing and effective to minister to people wholistically --- both physically and spiritually, and never one without the other. Jesus always showed care for the whole person; He would forgive people as He also brought healing to their body. Thus began our winter clothing ministry many years ago, and the rest is history.

How Brett Came to Christ:  A good friend took me to lunch, then shared the Gospel with me.  I accepted and started a tremendous journey.

Role at Center of Hope:  I help in the office duties of paying bills, property maintenance, leading worship on Sunday nights, along with house, hospital and jail visits.

What Drew Brett to the Center of Hope:  My church, Hope Lutheran, wanted to start a worship service on Sunday nights on the North end of town.  We met Fred and a partnership began.  Since then, I have come on staff.  It has been a wonderful experience.
